How we compare apps
We make Clean Kit, so we're not a neutral reviewer. Here's how we keep our comparisons and guides honest anyway.
Where competitor facts come from
- Prices, ratings, sizes and requirements come from each app's US App Store listing. Prices are shown as Apple lists them, and they vary by country and change often.
- Privacy details come from the App Store privacy label, which is provided by each developer and not verified by Apple. We quote the categories as listed.
- Features come from the App Store description or the developer's own website. If a feature isn't mentioned there, we say "not listed in the description" rather than claiming the app can't do it.
- Every comparison links its sources at the bottom of the page and shows the month it was last checked.
What we won't do
- Invent numbers, test results or savings figures.
- Hide what other apps do better. Each comparison has a section on where the other app is stronger.
- Claim that a cleaner app makes your iPhone faster by "cleaning RAM". iOS manages memory itself.
How we write guides
Every guide starts with the built-in iOS method, step by step, and then shows where Clean Kit can save time. Menu paths are written for current iOS versions, with notes where older versions differ. Storage figures for video come from the sizes Apple shows in Settings → Camera → Record Video.
